Looking for a free and low-cost way to be active virtually? City Fit Girls is a Black-owned business run by Kiera Smalls and Takia McClendon. The business took off in 2013 and has been thriving ever since. City Fit Girls is a fitness community in Philadelphia, encouraging people of all fitness levels to reach their goals with a supportive community. As they say on their website, “Our goal is to make physical activity more accessible no matter your race, pace, age, body type, sexual orientation, gender assigned at birth, or income level.”
City Fit Girls offers a free virtual Group Run on Strava every Wednesday at 6:30pm. All you need to do is join! Takia and Kiera also offer a virtual strength club for a subscription of $15 a month and you can cancel at any time.
